# Rebuilding tracking and checkout, single-handed

> A full tracking rebuild with Consent Mode v2 for an automotive repair network, followed by structured tests on the mobile checkout.

- Period: Feb – May 2024
- Outcome: +20–25% mobile conversion
- Skills: GA4, GTM, CookieYes, Consent Mode v2, A/B testing

## Context

Most bookings started on mobile, but the client could not see where the checkout lost people, and consent handling did not meet GDPR Consent Mode v2.

## What I did

- Audited the existing setup, then architected and deployed end-to-end tracking: GA4, GTM, CookieYes CMP and Google Ads conversions, with Consent Mode v2.
- Built GA4 funnel events and dashboards for the checkout funnel, form drop-offs and navigation.
- Ran journey analysis and heatmapping, then structured A/B tests on the checkout.
- Documented the stack in Notion so the team could self-serve.

## Outcome

- Mobile conversion up 20–25%.
- Compliant consent handling and conversion data the team could read without help.

## Stack

GA4, GTM, CookieYes, Google Ads, Notion.
